For the surface finishing of his masterpiece Thomas Werner focussed on the High-Solid- Schichter H 4001 from Jordan Lacke.

Within the scope of his masterpiece construction, the 28-year old Thomas Werner opted for an extravagantChaiselongue (from the French chaise longue, long chair, also called Roman sofa), as he had wished to design a piece of furniture for himself, and not only with optical appeal, but also suitable for daily use.

„It has been a special motivation for me tounite modern design, convenience, elegance, and practical use to be combined into one.“

said Werner. For the surface design he opted for a high- quality zebrano veneer material which in combination with the kiwi-green leather makes this masterpiece a real eyecatcher.

Surface treatment with High-Solid from Jordan Lacke:

After he had fine-ground and planed the veneer with the rotary sander Thomas Werner started with painting the surface.

Priming was carried out with High Solid H 4500 Grundlack (each work step with intermediate grinding 1st grain size 240, 2nd grain size 320, 3rd grain size 400 and final polish with grain size 600). As soon as the primer was felt to be dry it was immediately sanded, so that it could better air and dry. After another hardening time the primer was once more sanded and then primed again until all the pores had closed.

As topcoat Thomas Werner used High-Solid H 4001 (glossy) which after sufficient drying was highly polished (wet grinding).

Conclusion:

With high-gloss and leather combined on the surface and paired with many details and extras, Thomas Werner created an absolutely incomparable piece of furniture thanks to its special type and finish. Simply unique!
