Brand: JordanLacke
Country: Deutschland

Used products

For the surface finish of his masterpiece Lukas Binder elected products from the JORDAN Lacke Company.

Within the scope of his mastership examination 2015 at the School for Wood and Design in Garmisch-Partenkirchen Lukas Binder, from the Binder Joinery aus Gersthofen, planned, calculated and manufactured his mastership examination project. It had been his target to manufacture a desk which convinced above all by its high-quality materials, functional design, clear design idiom and concealed functions.

As materials for the desk they used on the one hand MDF boards coated with priming foil and on the other hand also exotic solid bubinga wood to achieve a clear contrast between the used materials.

The lamp integrated in the carcass is quite definitely to be emphasized as the special highlight of the KLARU desk.
The lighting can be easily swivelled in and

out through the integrated swivel mechanism which operates by means of a linear drive and cable pull. The ON- and OFF function is a special feature which controls the lamp fully automatically.

The affiliated roll container, equipped with many different variable compartments for precious writing utensils above and for technical documentations below has in addition magnets on the outsides. These “spacers” ensure that the desk, when being retracted beneath the desktop, returns exactly to the defined position.

Surface structure

Products from the JORDAN Lacke Company were chosen for surface painting. It has been the objective to obtain an extremely robust and durable surface with a pleasant feel.

After pre-grinding (grain size120) the workpieces were filled with 2K PUR-Füller H1336. Subsequent to another intermediate grinding step and another filling the surfaces were once again ground (grain size 240). The filler 2-component PUR-Füller H1336has been chosen due to its fast drying, high filling power and excellent grindability.

HIGH-SOLID-COLOR H6000 in the RAL 9001 colour shade with intermediate grinding (surface sponge) was applied twice as colour paint.

As the final paint coat had to ensure an extremely robust surface, the topcoatCLASSIC-EXTREME-RESIST 894 was used. This clear varnish convinces by itsvery high resistance to mechanical stress.
